Aurora has three school districts, operating a total of 55 elementary schools, 15 middle schools, and 5 high schools with a total enrollment of nearly 50,000 stuents. The districts include, the Indian Prairie School District, the West Aurora District, and the East Aurora District. The student-teacher ratio is under 18:1. Aurora also has 22 private schools.
Aurora is also home to the prestigious Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy. This public "magnet school" is enrolled with students in grades 10 through 12 of the state's brightest students. It is partnered with several scientists at state research facilities.
Aurora University has an enrollment of 4,300 students, and has many undergraduate and graduate programs, including business, fine arts, education, nursing, and social work. Its Spartan athletics is a Division III program, with men's and women's teams in basketball, soccer, tennis, track and field, and men's baseball and football.
Language is one thing that divides humanity. If you can't understand what people around you are saying, and they can't understand you, how can you possibly work together to achieve anything? For people that want to begin or further their career in a global industry, not knowing English can create a barrier to success. Thankfully, there are ESL programs that can help them to learn the language effectively and quickly. Not only that, but it gives them the opportunity to meet and study and learn English as a second language with other people from all around the world people who may later become important contacts in their business endeavours.
